Hebrew Academy is so proud of our middle school Cadena Initiative competitors Akiva Itzkowitz and Jonathan Acevedo. Their Land Pole invention, designed to save lives by warning people about a mudslide, can actually come to fruition and be put into action if they win.
The CADENA Initiative is a contest in which middle school students propose an idea to prevent or respond to a natural disaster in a more effective way. A part of the competition depends on votes cast from the community at large. The winning idea will be implemented by CADENA on their Humanitarian Aid Mission. The final competition will be held at the end of May in Mexico City, where a combination of community votes and judges evaluations will determine the winner.
Online voting is open until May 27th. You can vote for Akiva and Jonathan's Land Pole project by clicking HERE.
