Celebration of Yom Haatzmaut

This Tuesday evening marked the transition between the sadness of Yom Hazikaron (Memorial Day) and the celebration of Yom Haatzmaut (Israel Independence Day). In the High School, two IDF soldiers  were guest speakers. Alumnus Eden Glick spoke about her Tzahal service as a sharpshooter. Rabbi Koriat spoke about his close friend Nir who was killed in a tank accident. All 140 participants in the Zoom Assembly were able to hear their stories and honor the memories of fallen IDF soldiers.

On Tuesday evening, the 11th Grade hosted a CommUnity Zoom event marking the transition from Yom Hazikaron to Yom Haatzmaut with 150 school families participating. They read Tefilot and a moving poem, and culminated with the raising of the flag and a clip of the famous Israeli song Shevet Achim V’Achayot featuring many of our faculty members.

We wish Israel a happy and secure 72nd Independence Day and many more years of prosperity!
