Dr. Ami Eskanos has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Criminal Justice with a specialty in Juvenile Justice, a Master’s of Science in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She also has teaching credentials in K-12 Art Instruction, K-6 Education, and Middle and High School English. Starting out as a second grade teacher of gifted and talented students in California, Dr. Eskanos has been an educator since 1989. Upon joining Hebrew Academy in 1999, Dr. Eskanos was the Chair of the Art Department, the Summer Camp Director, and the After School Activities Director for several years before creating the Admission Department for which she is currently the Dean of Admission. She has two boys both of whom attended Hebrew Academy, a husband who enjoys building things, and a dog named Freddie Mercury who is quite the character; all of them keep her just as busy at home as she is at school.
