As an introduction to technology, students in K-5 grades have begun learning all about digital citizenship. In the younger grades, students have met six digital citizens, who one by one represent a different aspect of ourselves and how we should safely interact and handle technology. Weekly, students meet one citizen at a time, participate in a classroom discussion, watch a video and complete a handout that reinforces the lesson’s topic. Students in older grades have participated in classroom discussions and have learned about media balance and well being, privacy and security, digital footprint and identity and cyber bullying.
