Go Warriors! Victories Across Cross Country, Volleyball, and Flag Football

The Boys Cross Country team won their first race of the season, dominating the Scheck Hillel Invitational at Oleta River State Park with a team average time of 21:48 over the 5k course. Six Warriors runners finished in the top ten, Jacob Leibowitz (4th), Joel Behar (5th), Yakov Sragowicz (6th), Ben Leibowitz (7th), Alex Bibas (9th) and Benjamin De La Zerda (10th). 

The JV Girls Volleyball team won their first match of the season, defeating COHEA in a thrilling three set match. The Warriors were led by Sophomores Shirel Perez, Mia Turetsky, Aviella Kunis, and Eliat Mizrahi, as well as Freshman Juliana Wachtel and Sharon Benhamou. The Girls split the opening two sets of the match, leading to a winner take all final set. The back and forth final set saw the Warriors finish on top 18-16, showing their determination and focus in victory.

The Varsity Girls Volleyball team won their first match of the season this week, beating Donna Klein Jewish Academy in three straight sets. Leading the Warriors were Senior Sarah Rothman  and Junior Addie Shwirtz. The Warriors will look for their next victory when taking on Scheck Hillel (at Hillel) on Monday and Katz Yeshiva (at Katz) on Tuesday. 

The Middle School Boys Flag Football team won their first game on Wednesday, defeating Renaissance Cooper City 7-0. 8th Grader Henry Shwirtz connected on a 60 yard touchdown to fellow 8th Grader Emanuele Hazan, proving to be the decisive score for the Warriors. Defensively, Shwirtz, Hazan, and Zeke Gdanski (8th Grade) each intercepted passes to help hold the Chargers to 0 points. The Warriors will look for win number two next week when they travel to Scheck Hillel.
