El Doble de Bien: ⁠Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in Our Classrooms

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, our students in fifth grade explored Alma Flor Ada’s poem “Bilingual/Bilingue,” studying how the author weaves English and Spanish together to celebrate speaking two languages. They analyzed her message, that being bilingual means doing twice as many things, helping twice as many people, and having twice as much fun.
