Third Graders Code for Conservation

The third graders have been reading the book One Well by Rochelle Strauss, about the challenges of having clean water. In honor of Earth Day, our class spent time discussing ways we can be good global citizens. Students created animated public service announcements (PSA) about conservation using Scratch. They also  planted herbs, and began building soil moisture sensors using micro: bits. The students are working cooperatively on the different components of this project, and they are learning a lot about conserving our precious resources.
