Our 8th grade Names, Not Numbers elective has begun filming! This week, students had the extraordinary opportunity to meet and interview multiple Holocaust survivors as part of their yearlong documentary project. Before stepping behind the camera, our 8th graders learned the ins and outs of filmmaking and interviewing. Everything from framing a shot to crafting thoughtful, respectful questions. This hands-on experience not only builds technical skills, but also deepens students’ understanding of the responsibility they carry in preserving survivors’ stories.
