Middle School Chromebook Program
for Incoming 6th Graders and New Students
Over the past three years, our middle school program at the Hebrew Academy has moved to a blended learning model to better meet the academic needs of our students. With that move, we also have become a 1:1 device school with students bringing in their own laptops or tablets to use in the classrooms daily. While this initiative has allowed the devices to become an essential learning tool for the classroom, we have also had to spend time monitoring the use of the personal devices and attempt to prevent misuse of them throughout the day. In an effort to maximize student learning and prevent many of the challenges that present themselves with the current devices, the middle school is initiating a school issued device program for our students beginning with 6th grade and new 7th and 8th grade students. This program will have many advantages. School administrators will be able to control all apps, programs, and usage of the devices. The school will be able to prevent many of the distractions that are currently present on students' personal devices.
