Hurricane Dorian Updates

Tuesday, September 3:

All Hebrew Academy classes and activities will resume on Wednesday, September 4.

We hope your families are safe and well, and we look forward to seeing you back at school tomorrow!

Sunday, September 3:

We are closed Monday in observance of Labor Day, and in an abundance of caution we will be closed on Tuesday, September 3.

The physical safety of our students and staff is our school's highest priority. When the storm passes, we will inspect the school grounds closely and make a determination about when school will reopen. You will receive communication via email announcing the re-opening of school, and through our website. You may also call the school's Emergency Weather Hotline at 305-460-3246.

Friday, August 30, 2019:

In preparation for the possible impact of Hurricane Dorian on our area, it is important you are made aware of the following plans and guidelines.

1. A decision about closing school has not yet been made. We are monitoring the situation carefully and will make that decision as soon as we have solid information to do so. Please note that school policy calls for us to close for a weather emergency if the Miami-Dade school system closes. In such a case, you do not need to wait for a special Hebrew Academy announcement. If Miami-Dade is closed, we will be closed as well.

2. In case you aren't sure about school being open or closed next week, you may always call the Weather Emergency Hotline to hear a recorded message about the school status. The hotline number is 305-460-3246.You may also check the homepage of our website or head to hebrewacademymiami.org/hurricane-dorian-updates.

Thank you and please take all the necessary steps needed for you and your families safety. Warriors please stay safe and Shabbat Shalom!
