Second Grade Holds STEAM Inspired Dreidel Design Challenge and Visits the Library

Second Grade was very busy this past Chanukah combining science with the Chanukah Holiday. They had a STEAM inspired dreidel design challenge where they made their own dreidels, after learning about spinning in their balance and motion unit in science. Students whose dreidels spun the longest won the challenge. Congratulations to 1st place winners  Aaron Benveniste in the morning class and Ilay Rosenberg in the afternoon class. 2nd place winners were Gabe Wigoda and Isaac Kopel. Congratulations to all the 2nd graders who did a great job on the dreidel design.

Our other special activity was visiting the Miami-Dade Public Library. Second graders enjoyed reading books and having a story read to them! Other special activities included playing dreidel as the students learned about coins and trading money, and making a Chanukah Glyph!
It was a wonderful Chanukah with lots of learning and fun!
