Middle School Minimester Week Gives Students Real Life Career Experiences

  • Minimester Week 2018

Middle School Minimester Week gave students the opportunity to immerse themselves in courses outside their regular school curriculum. The program allows our students the opportunity to explore exciting and innovative courses, and provides them with the necessary skills to be competitive as a 21st Century learner.

Students were able to choose a course that focused on art, architecture and photography, makerspace, fitness, animals, or medicine.  Each of these areas provides experiences to explore careers in real life settings.

Throughout the week students participated in workshops in and outside of the classroom. Some went on a guided tour through Wynwood Arts District, exploring top galleries and graffiti murals by internationally known artists. Students interested in medicine, visited local doctor's offices to see firsthand how they are run, and some of the equipment that is used. While our more fitness inclined students learned all about the benefits of Pilates at a local studio.
