On March 4, seven student delegates from the Hebrew Academy Fana Holtz High School traveled to Washington, DC to attend the AIPAC Policy Conference. For two days, the students attended sessions and speeches featuring key American policy makers such as Vice President Mike Pence, Senators Chuck Schumer, Bob Menendez, and Mitch McConnell. They stressed the importance of the American-Israeli relationship, and how bipartisan support is vital to that relationship. Ambassador Nikki Haley and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also delivered enthusiastic speeches to the 18,000 people in attendance.
On the final day in DC, our students trekked to Capitol Hill, where they lobbied Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a long standing supporter of Israel. Our students performed well, and returned home emboldened as advocates for the US-Israel relationship.
