From the Desk of Rabbi Zvi Kahn, Head of School

Rabbi Zvi Kahn, Head of School

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the new school year at Hebrew Academy (RASG)! We have had a great opening week full of excitement, energy, learning and fun. The best part of the first week has been seeing so many new faces everywhere: new students, new parents and new teachers and staff.

In Early Childhood, we welcomed Aida Stiefel to Nursery 3. We also welcomed back Tali Eliani to the Baby Room. Tali started in the middle of last year.

In the Elementary Division, we welcomed Nofar Kdoshim to 1st grade as the Hebrew Language teacher and Judaic Studies assistant. Nofar is also the Israel Program Coordinator for grades K-5. Doris Pinhasov is the new Kindergarten General Studies assistant teacher, Mike Gindi is the new 2nd grade General Studies assistant teacher and Micha Weinberger is the new 5th grade Judaic Studies co-teacher.

The Middle School welcomed Devorah Werdiger as the new Activities Coordinator. Devorah is also teaching classes in Hebrew Language and Modern Israel. Aviva Moshe teaches Hebrew Language.

In the Academic Enhancement Program (AEP), we welcomed Sigal Abramov and Chana Cohen to the Middle School and AEP program and Alexander Phoundoulakis to the High School AEP program.

In the High School, we welcomed eight new teachers: Rabbi Yaakov Wrightman (Judaic Studies), Hector Duarte (English), Eric LaFountain (Engish), Andrej Vocajnk (Math), Roy Riley (Science), Rabbi Sharly Digadker (Judaic Studies), Sigalit Moshe (Hebrew Language), and Aviva Moshe (Hebrew Language).

In addition to the special energy created by our new teachers, the school environment has been energized by the arrival of more than 100 new students spread out in all four divisions. Please be on the lookout for lots of new faces everywhere, and when you see someone you don’t recognize please greet them with a warm and friendly Hebrew Academy welcome. That will surely make their day and yours, too!

Shabbat Shalom!
