As the principal of the Elementary Division of the Hebrew Academy, it is my pleasure to share with you some exciting information about our division.
My dream this year is that teachers, students, and parents think of our school as a place where communities of learners do interesting work that matters. It is our goal to help every child and family feel welcomed, connected, and a part of our Hebrew Academy family.
Our teachers are lead learners. Many of our staff will be participating in personalized Professional Development with Better Lessons. This year we welcomed new staff in Grades 1 and 4. Mrs. Irit Karavani, a veteran and highly skilled teacher, is our Kitah Aleph Judaic Studies lead teacher. Along with her assistant teacher, Ms. Noa Zemel, our First GradeJudaic Studies program will expand to include Tal Am as well as the ITal Am program. Mrs. Perla Salver has joined the First Grade team as the lead teacher in General Studies with Mrs. Caroline Nahon as her co-teacher. Mrs. Carly Schwartz, an experienced and engaging professional, is our new Grade 4 General Studies teacher. Mrs. Mati Deutsch is taking over Grade 4 Judaic Studies for Mrs. Judy Neufeld for the first few months of school.
We also welcomed Mrs. Kate Amir and Mrs. Kathy Eson as assistant teachers in our division. We have expanded our Ivrit department to include Mrs. Ortal Kutner, along with Morah Mazal, and Morah Jessica.
As the demands and complexities of educating children increase, it becomes more evident that all of us must work together to ensure success for our students. Together, we will empower children with the creative, intellectual and decision making skills necessary for them to be academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful, and responsible as well. We are working to create proud Jews who love and support Israel and Jewish learning.
Our year long theme of KINDNESS will be incorporated throughout our division in the form of assemblies and special projects as well as in class and grade specific activities.
We have partnered with CIJE to provide our students with many, varied, and innovative programs in the areas of STEAM. Our Engineering is Elementary curriculum aligns engineering with specific Science units. We will be participating in Girls Who Code and Math Olympiad as after and before school enrichment opportunities.
Grade 2 Judaic Studies will now include the Hebrew immersion program Tal Am.
I look forward to an exciting and rewarding school year. If at any time you need to reach me please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call me 305 532.6421 x125.
With our dedicated staff and our new initiatives, all signs point to an incredible and productive school year.
