Second Graders Visit Local Library and Write Letters for a Real Purpose

Second Graders take a walk to our neighborhood library. Students got to choose from a wonderful selection of books both fiction and non-fiction. Many students were so excited by all the amazing books in the library! What a wonderful way to foster a love for reading!

Also this week, our Second Graders wrote letters to our firefighters next door to thank them for their service and that letters were delivered on 9/11 with Mrs. Hamburg and the first graders. Then students wrote letters to the kids in the Bahamas who lost their home. We are sending these letters with a little surprise in each one to make them feel better. Second Graders hope to use their new letter writing skill to write many letters for real purpose events both in school and out of school!
