Ninth Grade Biology and Twelfth Grade AP Biology Finish CO2 Experiments using Labdisc

Ninth Grade Biology is finishing up their unit on Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration.  They measured atmospheric CO2 levels, CO2 levels we breath out (aerobic cellular respiration), and CO2 levels produced by yeast when it consumes sugar during fermentation (anaerobic cellular respiration).

Seniors in AP Biology constructed a bioreactor from the materials we had in lab to measure CO2 produced by yeast during a fermentation reaction using the lab discs.

Students used their Labdiscs for this specific project, a portable STEM lab created in Israel that enables very high level experiments across all scientific disciplines. At Hebrew Academy we are committed to 21st century learning, consistently finding new ways to integrate technology into classroom curriculum.
