Middle School Students Compose Letter of Appreciation to Local First Responders

As the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the United States falls upon us tomorrow, our middle school social studies classes spent time today learning about the events of the tragic day. Students were asked to define what terrorism is, how the attack on the United States occurred, where, and possible reasons why. Through the lesson, students learned about the role of First Responders in a national emergency and how their efforts played a part in the rescue and recovery of the 9/11 attacks in our country. Each student composed a letter of appreciation to a first responder of their choice during class today. The letters were delivered to our local first responder station to say thank you for all they do for each day.
