Middle School Girls WIN FIRST-EVER IAL Girls Basketball Championship

On Wednesday, the Lady Warriors (9-0) traveled up north to Posnack to take on SLAM Boca and battled tough the entire game while coming away with the schools first ever IAL Girls Basketball Championship by a score of 37-33! The first quarter went back and forth the entire time as Eliana Wolfson scored 13 of her season high 29 points to jump her team ahead 13-12 after one quarter of play. Tova Bossewitch got on the board to open the second quarter and teammate Shana Strohli added a basket to extend the Lady Warriors lead. A late run by SLAM Boca put them ahead 21-20 at the halftime break. Tali Winer and Tehila Ciment each added baskets to open the third quarter and help the Lady Warriors jump back ahead. The third frame went back and forth until a late basket by Eliana Wolfson put the Lady Warriors ahead 30-29 with one quarter to play. When all was said in done, free throws won the Championship for the Lady Warriors as Eliana Wolfson knocked in 7 of 9 in the fourth quarter to seal the first ever IAL Girls Basketball Championship for Hebrew Academy! Eliana Wolfson led the Lady Warriors with 29 points and 6 steals while teammate Tehila Ciment added 2 points and 11 rebounds. Tova Bossewitch, Tali Winer and Shana Strohli combined for 6 points, 9 steals and 7 rebounds in the win. A huge congratulations to Coach Mallory and her team for making school history! The IAL is a very tough league with over 20 teams and to capture the Championship is truly amazing! Go Lady Warriors!
