Four Middle School Students Represent Hebrew Academy as Young Ambassadors of the Hebrew Language

Four middle school students represented the Hebrew Academy at the Young Ambassadors of the Hebrew Language 4th Annual meeting at Donna Klein Jewish Academy in Boca Raton. They met with middle school students from three other schools - Samuel Scheck Hillel, Brauser Maimonides Academy, and Donna Klein Jewish Academy. The goals of this annual meeting is to promote using  the Hebrew language as a tool of communication among teenagers from different schools and backgrounds, and to form a group of young people who support Israel and the daily use of Hebrew language.

The 25 students had a debate in Hebrew on current events relating to Israel, conducted team building activities, enjoyed lunch, and talked about ways to improve the awareness for using Hebrew on a regular basis. The whole day was conducted in Hebrew.

Selection of representative students was based on placement in the honor level, ability to communicate relatively fluently in Hebrew, and student’s interest in participation. We are proud of Liora Bossewitch, Miriam Cohen, Yona Groisman, and Mayan Abramov who represented or school this year.
