From the Desk of Raquel Sultan, Early Childhood Director
Our division has had a great start of the year as we continue to get ready for the Yamim Noraim and anticipate the arrival of many amazing programs and special visitors.
Our classrooms look amazing! Our teachers have come back from their summer vacation recharged and ready to embark upon the New Year; most importantly our students are having the best time learning, growing and making friends.
Every morning at our morning assembly; Mifkad, we hear the Shofar blow in preparation for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur and we pray for the safety and wellbeing of Medinat Israel and our Chayalim.
We enjoyed Rabbi G’s Honey Bee and we continue engaging in outstanding classroom activities. The children will bake round Challot and delicious honey cakes and apple pies.
This year we are so excited to have a brand-new Makerspace, equipped with state-of-the-art technology. In the Makerspace I will be testing our STEAM curriculum with our Pre-K students.
We started off by discussing different concepts. We talked about ideas, imagination and how to be a maker. It has been fascinating seeing and engaging our students in these conversations. We will also be working on Visual Thinking and the development of thinking in young children.
Our days are filled with specialties such as: Kidokinetics, Tic Talk Spanish, Music with Morah Rachel, and Music with Moreh Shlomi and his accordion.
I look forward to a wonderful year of growth and learning. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at your convenience. You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org or our school office 305-5326421 Ext 118.
