From the Desk of Adi Raz, Director of Development: Why is $5.00 so important?

Why is $5.00 so important?

I remember learning in my middle school math class about exponents. A relatively small number when multiplied over and over and over again can turn into a really big number.

The same is true in fundraising. Some people I speak to say that they shy away from giving because they feel that their ability to contribute is so small that it won't make a difference. The truth is, that at Hebrew Academy every dollar counts, and just $5.00 means so much:

$5.00 is a breakfast subsidy for a child who otherwise won't have a morning meal.

$5.00 gets a 10th grade student ever-closer to his or her class Israel trip.

$5.00 helps to provide a scholarship for a Jewish child who otherwise would have to go to public school.

But the true magic of $5.00 is that it is not alone. If you give $5.00 and tell five friends, and then those friends each give $5.00 and tell five more friends...you can easily see how in a short period of time you create exponential growth. And this exponential growth leads to infinite possibilities in the lives of our Hebrew Academy students.

For the cost of a soy latte from Starbucks each and every one of us can make a huge impact. Please don't hesitate to reach out and speak to me about the ways you want to be a Warrior for Education.

Shabbat Shalom,
